Lake Braddock Crew is open for registration
from our Registration meeting to the Second General Membership meeting held
Feb.7th with a snow date of Feb 23rd.
Registration is in three parts:
1. On line registration and payment
2. Necessary hard copy forms including physical
3. Electronic US rowing Waiver and completed FCPS Concussion Education.
Each part is of equal importance, and each is discussed in detail below.
Please note that until all three parts are complete no rower is registered
and will not be permitted to participate in Lake Braddock Crew activities,
including winter conditioning.
Part 1: Online Registration and Payment
Crew participation for the coming season has a registration fee of $600.00.
This amount includes a fee of $75.00 for the winter preconditioning program.
Payment may be made in one sum by the registration deadline, November 25th,
2011. Alternatively, payments can be made in accordance with the following
schedule:
- Winter Conditioning only $75.00 November
25, 2011.
- Initial Payment (including Winter
Conditioning): This initial payment reserves your place on the team for
spring rowing, and covers the cost of winter conditioning. $300.00,
due by November 25, 2011.
- Initial Payment (if not participating in
Winter Conditioning): This initial payment reserves your place on the team
for Spring Rowing. $225.00, due by November 25, 2011.
- Final Payment $300.00 January 27, 2012.
Note that if a family has more than one
participant in the LB Crew Program, the total family registration fee will
be reduced by $100.00.
This year, the LB Crew Registration is
being done online via the Ronin Racing site. This is a website used by many
in the Crew community for registering for teams, regattas and other crew
events.
Click here to visit the section of the Ronin registration site that has
been specifically set up for Lake Braddock Crew. You will be given a choice
of payment options and methods. Families using script will have their
balances verified and charge amounts will be adjusted prior to processing
credit card payments. Script balances will be calculated as of Nov 15th and
Jan 15th.
Part 2: Necessary Hardcopy Forms,
Including Physical
Students must fill out the following forms:
The necessary forms are available within
the Ronin registration process and are also available from the LB Crew
website by clicking on the form name above. Print out everything in the
document and complete all forms.
Note that Part III of the VHSL Athletic Participation/Physical Exam Form
requires that each student have a physical exam, and it must be signed by a
physician. If you already have a VHSL Physical exam on file with the school
for a Fall or Winter sport, you do NOT have to provide another copy. Just
provide us with a note indicating that you already have a VHSL form on file
with the school, and what sport if was submitted for. However, if you DO NOT
have a VHSL form on file NOW is the time to schedule the appointment with
your family doctor for a physical!
Bring the forms to the Nov 9th Registration meeting. Alternatively, you can
place all of your forms in an envelope and place it in the Crew Box in the
Student Activities office. Please label “Registration”.
Please do not include any payments with your forms. Payments should be made
online via the Ronin website (see above).
Please do not give your completed forms to the coaches. Please them in the
crew box located in the Student Activities office.
Part 3: Electronic US rowing Waiver
and FCPS Concussion Education.
The US Rowing Waiver is imbedded in the registration Ronin registration
process. Please follow the directions on the Ronin site.
Completed FCPS Concussion Education
Virginia Code 22.1-271.5 requires all student-athletes and a parent complete
a concussion education program. Upon successful completion of this program,
the school will have your record updated. This is automatic, and you will
NOT be required to provide a certificate of completion. Both the student and
one parent must complete the program.
Parents need only complete the program one time for all their children
participating in FCPS athletics.
