Donation Campaign
Our
annual letter writing campaign has always been our largest single
fundraising initiative. In past years we have sent donation request
letters using “snail mail”. This year we are very excited to announce
that our letter writing campaign is going online!
Donation request letters will now be sent as emails and donations will
be made online. Our Email Donation Campaign will take place from
November 28 through December 12, 2011.
Participation of each student/family is mandatory.

Plant
Sale:
This is
our second largest fundraising opportunity for the team. Usually held
in April or May of each year, this has grown into a great tradition for
the Crew Team. Each rower is responsible for selling a specific amount
of gift certificates to be used at a local nursery. All families are
responsible for working one shift on the sale date at the nursery. Full
details of this fundraising activity will be provided in the early
spring.
Giant &
Safeway Gift Cards and Scrip Program:
These
programs are a must for every crew family! They are easy to participate
in and directly offset the cost of crew for your rower. When you
purchase Giant or Safeway gift cards or Scrip gift cards through the
crew team a percentage of the cost of the cards is put in an account
specifically for your rower. You may use the money in your rower’s
account towards your cost for registration, uniforms, or away regattas.
Giant &
Safeway gift cards
are purchased monthly and are available in $25, $50, $100, and $300
increments. They can be ordered when wanted, or many families sign up
for a regular monthly order of Giant or Safeway cards.
Scrip
gift cards
are available from hundreds of retailers and restaurants in various
amounts. They are great birthday and holiday gifts. Please
click here to see a list of participating retailers. On the list, a
dollar amount for each retailer’s gift card is shown and also the
percentage that of that amount that will be applied to your rower’s
account.
To
purchase Giant & Safeway gift cards or scrip gift cards,
simply send an email to Beth Donavan at
giftcards@bruincrew.com.
Please include the following information in the email: rowers full
name, mailing address, type and amount of gift card. Please note if you
want to receive any cards on a recurring monthly basis. Beth will mail
the cards to you as soon as possible.
Entertainment Books - A New Fundraiser
This year, we're offering rowers the opportunity to raise
funds by selling Entertainment Books. These books offer hundreds of
dollars in discounts for local restaurants and other entertainment
establishments. Entertainment Books are a great value at just $30. For
each book sold, $10 will be credited to your personal account and $2
will be credited to the club general fund. For every five books sold,
your sixth is free to sell for the full $30 credit or to keep. Contact

If your friends and family live out of town, go to http://fundraising.entertainment.com,
click on Seller Section, register as a seller, and be sure to use our
club id of 10062597 to ensure proper credit. From this account, you can
send emails to your contacts; books will be local editions for their
area. Fundraiser runs through Nov. 9th. Please return money and unsold
books at registration. Happy selling!
Corporate Fundraising:
One of
our newest initiatives, corporate fundraising is growing in importance
for the team. We have received donations from several organizations
over the past couple of years and are interested in expanding this area
of the program. Jason Hudson is the head of Corporate Fundraising.
