Letter-Writing Campaign
This
campaign is our largest single fundraising initiative for the year and our
most important. Campaign packets are typically distributed at the
Registration meeting in early November and are due back within a month.
Participation of each student/family is mandatory. Any questions may be
directed to the Crew Boosters Board VP for Ways & Means (see Contacts on the
Home page).

Giant Gift
Cards and/or Safeway "eScrip":
One of the
easiest ways to help the crew team raise funds is by taking advantage of the
Giant Gift Cards. If you shop at Giant, we can provide monthly Giant Gift
Cards which can be used just like money when you shop at Giant. Normally,
these are purchased in $50 or $100 increments and will be sent to you on a
recurring basis. The team receives a 4% return on all sales using these
cards. Tell your friends and neighbors about this great program as well.
For
Safeway, the process is even simpler. Just sign up and register for their "eScrip"
program and every time you use your Safeway card it provides a percentage of
the proceeds to the crew team. The percentage varies based on sales volume
so get signed up and start taking advantage of this great fund-raising
opportunity.
Plant
Sale:
This is
our second largest fundraising opportunity for the team. Usually held on
the last weekend of April or the first weekend in May of each year, this has
grown into a great program for the Crew Team. Each child is responsible for
pre-sales of plants using a special order form and laminated display sheet
showing the types of flowers/plants available for purchase. We have
contracted with a local nursery owner who provides and outstanding
assortment of exceptional quality plants and flowers which are brought in to
the Lake Braddock SS parking lot on the day of the sale for display. The
families are responsible for working one shift on the sale date at the
school. Full details of this fundraising activity are provided in the
early spring of each season.
Corporate
Fundraising:
One of our
newest initiatives, corporate fundraising is growing in importance for the
team. We have received donations from several organizations over the past
couple of years and are interested in expanding this area of the program.
Please help our Vice President for Ways and Means develop any corporate
opportunities you may know.
McDonalds
Pancake Breakfast:
Started in
2003, this is a fun program that requires small effort on the part of our
team members. In February, we host a pancake breakfast at the McDonalds
located at the corner of Rolling Road and Burke Lake Road. It will be held
on a Sunday morning in February from 8:00-10:30 AM and features an
"All-You-Can-Eat" pancake breakfast. We ask that each rower/cox pre-sell
four tickets at $5.00 each to their friends and families. And that's it!
The Crew Board of Directors works at the McDonalds that morning to help
serve, prepare, and clean-up during the sale and we benefit from a portion
of the proceeds. This is a wonderful program and we are extremely
appreciative of the willingness of Mr. Joe Montoya (owner of this McDonalds)
to make it available to us.
CFC:
Notice to all Federal Employees! Lake Braddock Crew is now on your
list of charities for Combined Federal
Campaign contributions. Please remember and use CFC #51039 to help your Crew.
