Head Coach Meredith Mariani
started rowing in 1990 on the Schuykill River in Philadelphia and
continued
her rowing career at Mount Holyoke College and has coached multiple junior,
college, and club teams and programs in Philadelphia and Indiana. She is a
member of the Occoquan Boat Club and has rowed with other competitive
masters programs throughout the metro Washington DC area.
She is also involved with the local triathlon community and is a member of
Team Z, based out of Arlington, Virginia. She competes in both short and
long course triathlons and open water long distance swims throughout the
racing season. Additionally, she is an official for USA Triathlon and
officiates races in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Meredith and her fiance live in Burke, VA and Meredith is preparing to apply
to veterinary school in the next few years.
Coach Tracy Shakespeare
adds to
her tenure with Lake Braddock Crew by returning for a third year
with more
than four previous years in various supporting roles for the team such as NCASRA
Volunteer Coordinator, Coach Liason, and Alumni Representative on the
Board. After watching her daughter enjoy rowing for Lake Braddock Crew
Tracy took up rowing with the Prince William Rowing Club. In the summer of
2006 Tracy co-organized the inaugural year of the Bull Run Rowers which
operates, aptly enough, out of Bull Run Marina. The summer of 2007 saw her
return to Bull Run Rowers as the organizer for the summer and fall adult
program that continues to grow with each season. Tracy grew up on the
Chesapeake enjoying various water sports and played Women's Field Hockey
both in High School and College. Tracy works for the Fairfax County Health
Department at Annandale High School.
Coach Ro Ralph will be returning to Lake Braddock crew for his second
year.

Coach Marine Jaouen
is new to Lake
Braddock this year, and is eager to help the Bruin crew reach new heights.
