Summer
Rowing
The Fairfax
Rowing Center will be offering high-school rowing camps this summer. The
Fairfax Rowing Center (FRC), based out of Bull Run Marina, is a rowing
program focused on providing competitive rowing opportunities for
juniors (i.e not collegiate or adult athletes). FRC is run by a
consortium of local coaches from Westfield (Erik Niebaber), Lake
Braddock (Meredith Mariani), Oakton (Andrew Walters), Forest Park (Mike
Cox), and West Springfield (Matt Petty).
The sessions for
the summer, 2010 season are:

14th - July 1

12 - August 5

Session 3:
August 9 - September 2
All Camps will
run Monday - Thursday from 6-8 PM at Bull Run Marina.

Erg Rental
As in the past,
Lake Braddock Crew will rent the erg machines to interested club members
over the summer. The rental fee is $100. Ergs can be picked up at the
boathouse at Bull Run on Saturday,
June 12. Ergs must be returned in November, prior to the start of winter
conditioning. Fill out an
Erg
Rental Form and bring it to Bull Run along with a check for $100 .
Bull Run
Rowers - Learn to Row Day
Bull Run Rowers
is an adult rowing club that rows out of Bull Run Marina during the
summer. If you are interested, or think you might be, there is a "Learn
to Row" day on Saturday, June 12th. This event is free for all.

Rowers meet in the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15pm and on
Saturdays at 8am.
Survey
The LB Crew
Board is conducting a survey of the team members and parents about their
experience with the 2009 to 2010 season.

SAFETY FIRST
To all rowers who drive themselves
and/or a teammate - as well as to all parents... The roads to and from
Bull Run Marina are winding and narrow. Please drive SAFELY at all
times. Please adhere to all speed limits. Please use extreme caution
when exiting Bull Run Marina onto Yates Ford Road.
